Cowell
The Cowell project, on the Eyre Peninsula, is prospective for iron ore and occurs in an area which has produced iron ore since the late 1800's.
The Cowell iron ore project is near the township of Cowell on the Eyre Peninsula. A 12 kilometre long magnetic feature dominates this project, which Rex interprets to be the extension of the Middleback Ranges. The Middleback Ranges have historically produced over 200 million tonnes of iron ore from haematite deposits that are typically over 50 million tonnes in size. The Middleback Ranges are disrupted to the south by a body of granite, with the prospective rocks south of the granite covered by younger sediments.
